Goals and Objectives

There are two major goals for Watson’s Healthcare and specific objectives within each of the goals.

Goal #1 – To improve the quality of living for people with mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities

Objective 1.1 -To provide people with mental illness, and intellectual/developmental disabilities 24-hour quality care in a group home setting.

Objective 1.2 -To teach people with mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities in learning activities of daily life at their level.

Objective 1.3 – To enrich the lives of people with mental illness and intellectual/developmental by creating and environment of family and community.

 

Goal #2 – To effectively use volunteers as a major factor in helping provide quality care for people with mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities

Objective 2.1 – To recruit a group of undergraduate students (10-15 students each semester) at Alabama State University to become volunteers at Watson’s Healthcare.

Objective 2.2 – To provide a four-week training program for the volunteers that covers basic educational information surrounding quality care of individuals with varied disabilities.

Objective 2.3 -To place advanced volunteer students in permanent employee status upon graduation.
